Cause
Microsoft Software Shadow Copy Provider service is not running.

Resolution
Start the service using GUI via “services.msc” , service display name is  “Microsoft Software Shadow Copy Provider”
Starting the Microsoft Software Shadow copy provider using GUI
or using elevated command prompt “net start swprv” without quote.
Starting swprv service using elevated command prompt
If in case you are facing trouble in starting the service you have to troubleshoot in order to fix based on the reason.
Output
Now you may click on the option “Configure Shadow Copies..” in the drop down menu after making a right click on drive/volume.

On selecting the option it will display you the output not the error
